foundation review.
It’s finally here. After weeks of tests, projects, papers, I finally have time to dedicate myself to this website.
And, as promised, here’s the Urban Decay: Naked Skin foundation review.
I am by no means a professional or well-experienced, so as I said in my intro to reviews post, this is going to be more telling you my experience with the product as an amateur and what I’ve learned than an actual review.
Also, I want to say that this was my first foundation ever so I have nothing to compare it with. Okay, here we go.
The Urban Decay: Naked Skin is a liquid foundation, very liquid. It has a powder finish so it is recommended to shake it before applying it.
It is very weightless, as it is advertised. It feels like you have nothing on your face which is really good because one of the reasons I didn’t want to start using foundation was because I was going to feel like I have a cake on my face, but this foundation kept its words: naked skin.
As for coverage, I would say that is more on the side of light to medium coverage. Although it is buildable, it doesn’t cover the blemishes completely. But it does evens the skin tone out so I don’t really mind that it doesn’t cover the blemishes completely since what I was looking for was for a more natural look. But if you need a foundation for a full make-up, I would recommend looking for a more heavy coverage foundation. If you think you don’t have much to cover (lucky) then I would give this one a try!
Now, for lasting. I would say this foundation is durable. I used this foundation from 10am to go to school, to 9pm leaving work, without reapplying it. For me, it did stay like when I applied it, of course not exactly the same but fairly good. Now for some people, I read that the foundation oxidizes (meaning it gets darker with time because of the oil) but it didn’t happen to me, so I would recommend that if you want to buy this foundation, try it out in the store and wait to see how it reacts on your skin. And if it does, then get one or two shades lighter.
How it behaved on my skin? I have mixed skin type, it is oily on the T zone and dry around the nose and the mouth, which gets worse in the winter. When I used this foundation in the winter, it made the dry skin VERY noticeable, now I don’t think I should blame the foundation for that but it did look horrible (gotta find a stronger moisturizer for the winter…), so make sure you always moisturize and take care of your skin! Now in the summer, this got better, the foundation blends very smoothly and very healthy looking.
Overall, this foundation is satisfactory and I would give it a 3.5/5. But since I have nothing to compare it with, I don’t know how accurate this rating is.
Have you try this one? What foundation have you used and would recommend? Do you have any other tips?
I hope this helped!
